36 arrested while crossing illegally into Libya

Security forces from Matrouh Security Directorate prevented 36 people from illegally crossing from Egypt to Libya on Saturday.

The group, composed mostly of Egyptians but including three Sudanese people, was attempting to enter Libya across the desert to the west of Salloum.

Maj. Gen. Mukhtar al-Senbary, who heads the security directorate, was informed of the capture of seven people from Kafr al-Sheikh governorate, four from al-Beheira, five from Minya, four from Assiut, three from Matrouh, three from Fayoum, two from Beni Suef, two from Sohag, one from Aswan, one from Ismailia, one from Cairo and three Sudanese.

The case has been referred to the prosecution for legal action.
