Border troops thwarts attempt by 196 persons to enter country

Military Spokesperson Ahmed said border troops foiled attempts at "infiltration" at the western military command.

In a statement on Facebook, Ali said troops of the western military command, 50 kilometers to northeast of Kamel mountain, seized two vehicles. 33 persons and machinery guns were in the first vehicle and 163 persons and a satellite phone on the second.

The detainees were referred to prosecution, he added, and all legal measures taken with regard to the seized items.

Border troops, Ali said, strive to secure the country's borders from all sides to abort schemes that target "destabilize society and harm national security."

A photo published on the Facebook page of the Armed Forces show the detainees being forced to sit in the sun.
