British committee to check security measures at Cairo Airport

A British security committee started inspections on Monday of security measures at Cairo International Airport.

The company focused on the specific areas of passenger security checks and the treatment of cargo for flights heading to London.

The committee will continue its work over the coming three days before issuing a final report on security standards at the airport.

Informed sources at the airport shared that the committee is made up of five British experts in aviation security.

On Sunday the committee began by inspecting procedures used for passenger and luggage checks on British Airways flight 154 and EgyptAir flight 777, both destined for Heathrow Airport, London.

The team will also be looking at safety measures during the loading of cargo onto aircrafts.
