Brotherhood: Reconciliation continues through intermediaries close to the military leaders

The Muslim Brotherhood said on Monday that reconciliation efforts with the regime continue through intermediaries close to the military leaders.

“The government continues to reconcile with us after it failed to resolve the ongoing demonstrations in the streets,” said Brotherhood spokesperson Hamza Zawba on Monday. “But we reject such false reconciliation.”

“The government is lying when it says it does not negotiate with us,” he added. “It wants to blame the peaceful Brotherhood for its economic and political failures.”

Mohamed Ibrahim of the Freedom and Justice Party said the decree considering the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist group will not resolve the problem. “The government continues to take repressive measures against the group and the supporters of President Mohamed Morsy,” he said. “We will not reconcile with a murderous regime.”

Magdy Qarqar of the National Alliance to Support Legitimacy said the regime is not serious about reconciliation. “We will not accept but the return of the usurped legitimacy,” he said.
