A building in the center of Damietta collapsed on Tuesday evening, killing six people and injuring 28 others.
Ambulances rushed to the site and evacuated the area, looking for survivors under the rubble.
The four story building, which contained the headquarters of the Wasat Party, fell abruptly, eyewitnesses said.
Damietta Governor Mohamed Ali Fleifa ordered a fact-finding committee to assess the cause of the collapse.
