Cold weather, rain to continue throughout Wednesday

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) expects cold weather on Wednesday in the country’s north including Lower Egypt and Cairo. Moderate temperatures will dominate Upper Egypt during daylight hours.

Very cold weather is expected overnight.

Low and medium level cloud cover is expected for the north, accompanied by rain along the north coast and parts of Lower Egypt and Cairo.

Frost is predicted on plantations in central Sinai.

Winds are anticipated to be moderate and mostly northwesterly and will be active in the western Mediterranean Sea, possibly disrupting navigation.

Waves in the Mediterranean Sea will range between 2 and 2.5 meters high, while waves in the Red Sea will range between one and 1.5 meters with northwesterly surface winds on both seas.

Maximum temperatures predicted for the following cities are as follows: 18C in Cairo, 16C in Alexandria, 20C in Qena, 21C in Luxor, and 22C in Aswan.
