Court resumes trial of ex-interior minister over profiteering

On Thursday, Cairo Criminal Court resumed the trial of former Interior Minister Habib al-Adly on charges of illegally acquiring wealth worth LE181 million.

 

The Illicit Gains Authority (IGA) had earlier referred Adly to criminal court for abusing power in order to achieve illegal profits.

 

Investigations showed that Adly owns four palaces in Marina, plots of land in Alexandria and Sheikh Zayed, property in 6th of October City, an apartment in Alexandria’s San Stefano Towers, and LE84 million in bank accounts.
