Custody extended for pro-Brotherhood politicians over incitement

Cairo Criminal Court on Tuesday extended by 45 days the custody detention of 16 Islamist politicians allied with the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood.
 
The suspects are accused of inciting violence, spreading rumors and disrupting public safety, according to the petition of charges.
 
Suspects include Magdy Qurqur, a former member of the disbanded, Brotherhood-led Alliance to Support Legitimacy, as well as Magdy Hussein, chairman of the disbanded Istiqlal (Independence) Party.
