Egypt able to export arms: military source

The head of the Minister of Military Production’s office, Mohammed Shereen, stated on Tuesday that the Ministry of Military Production has produced various arms, including tanks, mortars, ammunition, pistols and machines, that can be exported to the neighboring countries.

Shereen said in interview with “Ra’i Aam” TV program on TeN channel, “EDEX has presented the arms that [the armed forces] have manufactured for the Egyptian army and will work on exporting them within the coming period.”

Shereen mentioned that the ministry prepared for the Egypt International Exhibition Center (EDEX 2018) from December 3 to 5 upon instructions from President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

He asserted that Egypt would have moral gains from EDEX because it sends a message to the world that Egypt is stable.

President Sisi on Monday opened Egypt’s first international exhibition for defense and military industries, EDEX 2018.

Several Egyptian and foreign officials attended the opening ceremony for EDEX 2018, including Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Defense Minister Mohamed Zaki, as well as 10 world defense ministers, from the UAE, Oman, Sudan, France, Greece, Cyprus, South Sudan, Cameroon, South Korea and Somalia, as well as seven chiefs of staff and seven military production ministers from friendly countries.
