Egypt attempts to resolve Toshka land dispute with Saudi prince

Al-Masry Al-Youm has learned that the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces is expected to formally request that Saudi King Abdullah intervene and resolve the dispute between the Egyptian government and Saudi Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal’s Agricultural Development Company.

Egyptian State Council annulled a contract selling the company 100,000 acres in Toshka and the cabinet is expected to send a memo to the council with the legal procedures for withdrawing the land from the company.

Sources expect King Abdullah to side with the Egyptian government and convince Talal not to elevate the matter to international arbitration.
