Egypt constructs 3 large universities in New el-Alamein City

Egypt’s Minister of Higher Education Khalid Abdel Ghaffar has announced construction of three large universities in the New el-Alamein City, by the Mediterranean Sea.

During a phone-in with al-Hekaya TV show on MBC Masr channel, Ghaffar said that 40% of the construction work on the three universities has been completed.

He added that studies in these universities are expected to start in the next academic year, 2019.

“Whoever will join these universities will be a graduate of the future, thanks to their new specializations. It is expected that the New el-Alamein City will have a promising future.”

Work is underway on 15 schools in these universities, Ghaffar continued, which include all modern specializations in line with the fourth industrial revolution, as well as 22 projects in the field of education.

New el-Alamein City is considered the first model of a new generation of cities in Egypt. It will be located on an area of 50,000 feddans, and be designed to accommodate more than 3 million inhabitants by the end of the first construction phase.

The Arab Contractors (Osman Ahmed Osman & Co.), which is constructing New el-Alamein, says it will be “an iconic city” for the Western North Coast upon its completion.
