Egypt, ILO sign cooperation protocols to create more job opportunities

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi issued on Thursday decree no.483 of 2019, approving cooperation protocols with the International Labor Organization (ILO) to develop the private sector in Egypt and create job opportunities during 2018-21.

The Minister of Investment and International Cooperation and the International Labor Organization (ILO) signed the protocol on April 29 in Cairo, and the House of Representatives approved it on December 24.

The protocol aims at supporting private sector investments in the various economic sectors as well as supporting entrepreneurship and promoting the development of citizens’ business skills in Egypt’s rural areas.

The protocol is also expected to develop small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and provide technical assistance to the start-ups.
