Egypt signs agreement with China for renewable energy lab

The China Electronics Technology Group has announced the signing of a cooperation agreement with Egypt to establish a renewable energy laboratory within the initiative of President Xi Jinping to build the economic belt of the Silk Road and the Maritime Silk Road.
 
The company said in a statement that the project makes use of Egypt’s sunny climate and high-speed wind and Chinese know-how.
 
The statement added that the Chinese Tianjin University is taking part in the project, and that the Egyptian Academy of Scientific Research and Technology is supervising it.
 
According to the Chinese newspaper People’s Daily, the laboratory will work on automation technology for high-efficiency and low-cost batteries, improve the effectiveness of large solar power plants, build solar photovoltaic systems and train personnel.
