Egyptian Meteorological Authority issues warning for cold weather, rainfall this weekend

Very cold weather is expected to prevail across Egypt for the next 72 hours, with the country set to see temperatures ranging between 14C and 15C across the northern coasts, Lower Egypt and Cairo during the day, and dropping to between 7C and 9C at night, according to the head of the Egyptian Meteorological Authority’s forecast center Mahmoud Shaheen.

During an interview with Anchor Jihan Labib on the TV program “90 minutes,” Shaheen added that winds will be active across Egypt, disturbing sands and dust and exacerbating the already cold temperatures.

Meanwhile, there is a possibility of heavy rain along the country’s northern coasts this weekend, with light rain predicted in Egypt’s capital, Cairo.
