Egypt’s Alexandria to host first extreme fighting tournament for MMA



Alexandria is set to host the first Extreme Fighting Championship (EFC) for Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) on August 1.

This is the first ever time Egypt hosts an EFC tournament. The event is sponsored by the Egyptian committee for MMA, and the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF).

Head of the Egyptian Committee for MMA Khaled Abdel-Hamid said that amateurs, professionals, Gyms, clubs, and teams can participate in the Evolution Fight Night 44 (Super Cup Egypt) with two competitors in every balance.

He added that the tournament will have financial rewards for the club or team winning first place. He explained that the team which will win the largest number of times in the matches will receive the Super Cup.

One of the most prominent participants in the tournament is the “EGYPTIAN TOP TEAM”, which includes a group of distinguished players who have participated in local and international tournaments.

MMA is a mixture of karate, kung fu, taekwondo, judo, boxing, muay thai, jujutsu and Greco-Roman wrestling, and has been gaining popularity across Egypt.
