Egypt’s equestrian team qualifies for Tokyo Olympics for first time since 1960

The Egyptian equestrian team qualified for the Olympic Games in Tokyo next summer by topping the overall standings of the Nations Cup.

The Egyptian team collected the highest points compared to other teams to secure their seat at the Olympic Games next summer.

The Egyptian equestrian team includes cavalrymen Mohamed Taher Ziada, Nael Nassar, Sameh al-Dahan and Abdel Qader Saeed.

This is the first time the Egyptian equestrian team has qualified for the Olympics since 1960.

The Nations Championship mission, headed by Hisham Hatab, was congratulated by heads of other participating missions and by Samy al-Tohamy, head of Group VII in the International Federation for Equestrian Sports.

The Tokyo Olympics are set to be held next July and will feature the participation of 11,000 athletes from 206 countries competing in 33 different sports.

Organizers announced that 70 percent of the maintenance and construction work in the stadiums has been completed.
