Egypt’s Sisi, Algerian president discuss Algeria’s domestic affairs

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi met with Algeria’s President Abdelkader Bensalah on Thursday to discuss Algeria’s domestic affairs and cooperation between the two countries concerning Libya and the African Union.

Egyptian Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady said that Sisi welcomed Bensaleh like a brother and appreciated the excellent relationship between the two countries.

Sisi praised Bensaleh’s efforts in amending the Algerian constitution to achieve political stability, and asserted that Algeria’s people and institutions are capable of dealing with their current challenges.

Sisi also wished victory for the Algerian team against Senegal in the 2019 African Cup of Nations’ final match.

On his end, Bensalah praised the relationship between the two countries. He also congratulated Egypt for the successful organization of the 2019 African Cup of Nations, thanking Egypt for the hospitality and facilities given to Algerian fans arriving in Egypt to support the Algerian team.
