Egypt’s Sisi meets King of Jordan and Sudan military council head

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi met with the Jordanian King Abdullah II bin al-Hussein on Monday, discussing peace process developments in the Middle East and stressing on the importance of resuming Arab-Israeli negotiations according to international resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.

Sisi and Abdullah also discussed joint efforts of combating terrorism and the necessity of working to increase the international efforts against terrorism.

Meanwhile, Sisi also met with the Sudanese Deputy Head of the Transitional Military Council (TMC) Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo (Hemeti), discussing the developing situation in Sudan.

Sisi stressed that Egypt will keep on supporting the security and stability of Sudan and cooperating with the TMC in various issues, including joint developmental projects such as the electric connection and railway line.

Back in January, Sisi held bilateral talks with Jordanian King Abdullah II after arriving in Amman, followed by a session of extended talks between delegations of the two countries.

The Spokesperson for the Egyptian Presidency Bassam Rady, said that the talks reviewed the latest regional and international developments. The two sides exchanged views on the Palestinian cause and prospects for the Middle East peace process.

In May, Sisi also held bilateral talks with the head of Sudan’s transitional military council Abdel Fattah Burhan, during a meeting on Saturday attended by Egyptian foreign minister Sameh Shoukry and Egypt’s Chief of the General Intelligence Service Abaas Kamel.

Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady stated that Sisi hailed Burhan’s visit to Egypt, which reflect the links connecting the people of the Nile Valley, their united destinies and the common interest binding the two countries.
