Electricity Ministry signs contract for Manfalut transformer station

The Electricity and Renewable Energy Ministry signed a contract with the Egyptian German Electrical Manufacturing Company (EGEMAC) on Wednesday to build a transformer station in Manfalut.

Ahmed Hanafi, head of the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company, said the station has a capacity of 66/11 KV and 2 × 40 MVA without the main transformers, as well as medium voltage cells of 11 KV. The station will be completed 14 months from the date of the contract signing.

He added that the station will cost LE31.5 million, the funding for which will come from the company’s self-funding sources.

“We are strengthening the grid and raising its efficiency,” he said.
