Endowments leader aims to end ‘sectarianism caused by Brotherhood’

Saad al-Feqqi, newly-appointed Undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowments in Kafr al-Sheikh, said he has been working “on erasing the sectarian problems caused by the Muslim Brotherhood in society.”

Feqqi added he wants to return sanctity and independence to mosques, away from intolerance and dispute.

“Only imams who belong to Al-Azhar and have permits from the Ministry of Endowments will be allowed to ascend the podiums to deliver sermons in mosques,” he said.

In a statement to Al-Masry Al-Youm, Feqqi also said that he would make decisions after careful consideration and without bias.
