Exemption of mosques and churches from electricity bills canceled

According to a source at the Coptic Orthodox Church, the Pontifical Office had received a letter from the Ministry of Electricity, saying that places of worship would no longer be exempted from paying electricity bills.

The source said the Endowments Ministry would pay the bills on behalf of the mosques, but churches have no government body to do that for them.

According to the source, the Church will ask the ministry to reconsider the decision.
