First legislative session for Egypt’s House of Representatives ends Tuesday

The fifth and final sessions for the first legislative session for the Egyptian House of Representatives commenced on Tuesday.

The first session began with the reading of the Presidential Decree No. 452 of 2019, inviting Parliament to convene the last session.

The last session is scheduled to complete the discussion and approval of some important legislation, including bills on the House of Representatives elections, the exercise of political rights, municipalities elections, new labor law, amendments to the real estate tax and the old rents laws, new customs law, and the new irrigation law.

Later Ali Abdel Aal, Speaker of the Parliament, is set to announce the lists for ad hoc committees announcing that MPs can submit written proposals and objections in preparation for conducting internal elections on the chairmen and secretaries of parliament committees.
