Authorities rescue French ship off Alexandria coast

The Alexandria Port Authority in cooperation with naval forces rescued on Wednesday a French ship that went adrift west of Alexandria.

Port investigations chief Ibrahim al-Shennawy received notification last week that a French vessel had drifted off course while entering the port.

The ship, which raised the flag of Hong Kong, was carrying 60 tons of wheat.

Hamed Hedaya, the head of the maritime transport sector, sent six massive tugboats to pull it into the harbor, where it was able to unload its cargo.
