Gasoline truck hits microbus, kills 15

A fuel truck exploded on the Cairo-Alexandria agricultural road Monday, leaving 15 dead, dozens injured and several cars burned.

Preliminary inspection revealed that the gasoline-filled vehicle was crossing the al-Dalgamoun bridge coming from Daqahliya and hit a microbus carrying several commuters and a “tuk-tuk,” a three-wheeled auto rickshaw. Victims, some totally charred, were removed from the wreckage.

Forensic medicine experts were delegated to investigate the cause of  the accident, identify victim names and inform families.

A prosecution team also inspected the site late Monday.
