International Festival for Drums and Traditional Arts to start 18 April

Minister of Tourism Khaled Rami has agreed to sponsor the third round of the International Festival for Drums and Traditional Arts under the slogan "Drums Dialogue for Peace" between 18 and 25 April at Saladin Citadel in Cairo.
 
The festival will be held in cooperation with the Hewar Foundation for Peoples Arts and Cultures.
 
Twenty-four countries will participate in the festival including Columbia, Armenia, India, Togo, Uganda, Cameroon, Guinea, Greece, South Korea, Thailand, the Maldives, England, USA, Algeria, Tunisia, UAE, Jordan, Kazakhstan, and Sudan.
 
Samy Mahmoud, head of the Tourism Promotion Authority, said the festival was of great importance due to the international and local media coverage which would contribute to the promotion of cultural tourism.
 
Mahmoud pointed out that the festival will also include fashion shows on al-Moez street and a souk for heritage and environmental products on the sidelines of the festival.
