January core inflation falls to 6.86 percent

Egypt's core consumer price inflation slowed to 6.86 percent in the year to January from 7.07 in December, the Central Bank said on Thursday.

Core inflation strips out subsidised goods and volatile items including fruit and vegetables.

Urban consumer price inflation, the most closely watched indicator of prices, dipped to 8.6 percent year-on-year in January from 9.5 percent in December.
