Abu Bakr al-Kilany, security official of the border troops of Shohadaa al-Jazeera brigade in the Libyan city of Ajdabiya, denied news on Saturday that was circulated in media about the abduction of 55 Egyptian drivers on the road between Ajdabya and Tubruq.

Kilany indicated that the 55 drivers and their trucks were held by dozens people demanding release of their relatives held by security authorities in Egypt.

A group affiliated to one of the Libyan armed militias detained on Friday 55 Egyptian drivers at Ajdabiya, near Benghazi, after they entered Libya coming from Egypt. They also reportedly kept the trucks loaded with merchandise.
