Maadi policemen stage protest against new working hours

About 200 policemen from the Maadi police station staged protests on Wednesday, rejecting the new shift pattern that has been imposed on them. They demonstrated outside the police station, blocking the street.

They are unhappy with the extension of shifts to 12 hours, with another 12 hours of rest, a system that was cancelled after the revolution.

They are demanding a new system of 12 hours of work and 36 hours of rest, as most of them live outside Cairo. Alternatively, they suggested 12 hours of work and 24 hours of rest.
