Manufacturer of first Egyptian telescope: I send my message to new generations

Wahid Abdel Moneim Morsi, manufacturer of the first Egyptian telescope, graduated from the Faculty of Commerce at Cairo University but loved optics and scientific instruments.

He had manufactured a microscope when he was seven years old, then made a telescope with pure local materials.

He does not want the Scientific Research Ministry to adopt his product, nor is he interested in making money from it. All he wishes, he says, is to give lectures at seminars and teach the new generations how to make such an instrument.
