Meat, poultry prices fall, say chambers of commerce

Meat and poultry prices have fallen recently, according to a number of reports from chambers of commerce in various Egyptian governorates.

Prices of certain other essential commodities, meanwhile–such as fish, vegetables, sugar, rice, flour, oil, legumes and eggs–have stabilized, according to reports.

The price of locally-produced meat has decreased by LE5 per kilo, currently ranging between LE52 and LE55 per kilo, with prices as low as LE35 per kilo in some governorates.

Per-kilo poultry prices have also fallen from a previous LE15 to between LE11.5 and LE12. Per-kilo prices for imported frozen meat, meanwhile, now range between LE27 and LE30, depending on type and quality.
