Meteorologist: Egypt’s summer season begins June 21

Chairman of the Egyptian Meteorological Authority, Ahmed Abdel Aal, announced on Wednesday that Egypt’s summer season would start on Friday, June 21 and end September 20, with temperatures reaching up to 46C.

He pointed out that temperatures will increase by three to four degrees above-average during daylight all over the country.

Abdel Aal added the monsoon season’s low pressure would cover the country, increasing temperatures and humidity during the summer season.

Winds will be active on Friday in Upper Egypt and South Sinai, disturbing sands and dusts.

Maximum temperatures expected for the following areas during summer are 32C in the northwestern coasts and North Sinai governorate, 39C in Lower Egypt and Cairo, 43C north of Upper Egypt and 46C in south of Upper Egypt.

Temperatures for Friday are predicted to range between 34C to 35C with humidity percentage reaching 50 percent to 60 percent.

Abdel Aal advised citizens to wear protective head covers while going to stadiums, and drink juices and beverages, and wear cotton clothes.
