Egypt’s Ministry of Education announces results of high-school exams

Egypt’s Ministry of Education on Sunday announced the success rates of the Thanaweya Amma high-school exams, naming the students who received the highest marks for 2019.

The Ministry presented the number of applicants for the exams, the number of attendants, percentages of success and a comparison between the percentage of success for the academic year 2019 and previous years.

Their statistics revealed that the percentage of success in the public secondary schools was 83.6 percent, while the percentage of success in public language secondary schools and private language secondary schools reached 84.1 percent and 87.3 percent respectively.

According to the statistics, the percentage of success for private schools and private language schools with tuition reached 62.9 percent and 87.8 percent respectively, while the percentage of success for home students was 50.3 percent.

The number of students who received the highest marks totaled 40; 34 students in public education, two students in STEM schools, one blind student and three special education students.

The list featured 14 students in the scientific division, 10 students in the scientific-mathematical division and 10 students in the literary division.

The ministry clarified that second round exams will start in August 18 and that applicants would be able to submit for grievances in July 16.
