Minya’s state property watchdog interrogated over bribery

Public prosecutors in Minya are interrogating an engineer responsible for guardianship over state properties in the province for allegedly receiving bribes.

Prosecutors accuse the official of obtaining a LE40,000 bribe from an investor in return for illegally allocating him a plot of land in the province’s western desert.

Administrative Control Authority officers arrested the suspect late Wednesday at his office, and documents were seized during the raid.
