Mohab Mamish receives New Silk Road CEO of the Year Award

Lieutenant General Mohab Mamish, Advisor to the President for Maritime Ports, received the 2019 Aramco Trading New Silk Road CEO of the Year Award from the Ruler of Fujairah, Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi.

Mamish has been awarded the prize as the Best Executive Director for his role in the New Silk Road Initiative 2019.

In statements after receiving the award on Monday evening, Mamish said that he dedicates the award to President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, the Egyptian people and the employees of the Suez Canal Authority.

He added that the Silk Road Initiative includes the construction of roads, railways, oil and gas pipelines, power lines and other necessities of infrastructure. The project has two main branches: the land economic Silk Road Belt and the Maritime Silk Road.

Mamish pointed out that the Silk Road Initiative will not adversely affect the Suez Canal, but works to complete its role and optimize its use as a logistical center for ships and goods.

The land Silk Road consists of three main lines, the first running from East China to Central Asia, the Russian Federation and finally Europe, the second running from China through Central and Western Asia and the Gulf region to the Mediterranean Sea, and the third running from China through Southeast Asia and South Asia to the Indian Ocean.

The main Silk Road links the Chinese coast with the Strait of Malacca to India, the Middle East and East Africa, then extends to the coasts of Europe. It also links Chinese coastal ports to the South Pacific.
