Navigation resumes in Suez Canal following tanker breakdown

Navigation in the Suez Canal is back on schedule after stopping for 3 hours on Wednesday after a tanker drifted off course.

A navigation source at the canal said rescuers managed to return the tanker, which flew the flag of the Marshalls Islands, to the navigation course.

The tanker carried 140,000 tons of gas.

The source said the tanker’s engines broke down, causing it to drift off course and to delay another 10 tankers behind it.
