NGO recycles unused textbooks

The Egyptian Society to Protect the Environment from Pollution, located in Moqattam, is collecting thousands of textbooks and notes left behind by the last school year to manually recycle and make gifts of them.

The members of the NGO who will be carrying out this task are all women. They take away metal pins and glue from the notes, shred them, put them in a kneading machine, add water and leave them for 20 minutes until they turn into paper pulp.

Other materials they use are hibiscus, safflower and onion peels to add color.
