Nine university students fined, sentenced to prison

A military court in Mansoura Sunday fined and sentenced nine students belonging to the Muslim Brotherhood at Mansoura University to prison.
 
Amr Mostafa was sentenced to seven years and a fine of LE1,000,000, while three other students were sentenced to three years in prison and a fine of LE50,000 each.
 
The claim against student Ahmed Awad Shokeir was dropped due to his death. Three other students were sentenced in absentia to 10 years in prison and a fine of LE100,000 each.
 
The Daqahlia police arrested the accused, who belong to the Students Againt the Coup Movement at Mansoura University, during a demonstration on April 15, 2014.
 
The public prosecutor accused them of demonstrating without a permit, blocking the road in Mansoura, overcrowding and rioting.
