Parliament approves appointment of 4 new ministers

 

Egypt’s House of Representatives approved on Sunday a new cabinet reshuffle that included changing the Ministers of Local Development, Business Sector, Tourism, and Culture, in addition to appointing new Deputy Ministers of Health and Housing.

The post of Minister of Local Development will be held by the head of the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) Abu Bakr al-Gendy, replacing Hisham al-Sherif.

Head of Cairo Opera House Inas Abd al Dayem will assume the Ministry of Culture, in replace of journalist Helmy al-Nemnm.

Economist Rania al Mashat will take the Ministry of Tourism instead of Yehia Rashed while Khaled Mohammed Ali Badawi will assume the Ministry of Business Sector, instead of Ashraf al Sharkawi.

The Parliament further approved the appointment of the head of the General Organization for Physical Planning, Assem al-Gazar as Deputy Minister of Housing and Tarek Mohammed Tawfiq as Deputy Minister of Health and Population.
