Pope leads Good Friday mass

During a meeting with journalists where he spoke on the Personal Status Law, the pope said the churches have agreed on 90 percent of its content.

Regarding the issue of the Macarius Monastery in Wadi al-Rayan, the pope said he authorized the government to handle the issue.

In February, priests from the monastery challenged army-guarded bulldozers that were to level the 4th-century structure for the construction of a new road.

The Coptic Orthodox Church is getting ready to celebrate Palm Sunday on 5 April. Masses of resurrection will be held on Saturday.
