Presidential adviser says presidential elections may be held next summer

Presidential adviser Mostafa Hegazy has said parliamentary elections will likely be held by the beginning of next year, with presidential elections possibly taking place as soon as summer 2014.

He added that while the electoral process will take place, parliament will not necessarily meet by that date.

Hegazy also said that presidential elections might take place in the coming summer after parliamentary elections.

In an interview with CNN on Friday, Hegazy said that wrapping up the new draft constitution will take place by December and then parliamentary elections will take place within two months. He expressed hope that parliamentary elections end by beginning of April 2014.
