Rains expected to fall on Thursday, Cairo 16C

Egyptian Metrological Authority (EMA) expects cold weather in the country’s northern parts and in the north of Upper of Egypt on Thursday. Moderate temperatures will dominate in the south of Upper Egypt during daylight hours, with very cold temperatures through night.

Low and medium-level clouds are predicted to be dense in the north, accompanied by heavy rainfalls along the northern coasts, Lower Egypt, Central Sinai and in the north of Upper Egypt.

Northwesterly winds will be active in most parts of the country, carrying dust and sand in the country’s southern parts, possibly disturbing navigation on the Red and Mediterranean Seas.

Waves in the Mediterranean are expected to be very rough and range between 4 to 5 meters in height, while waves on the Red Sea are moderate and range between 1 to 1.5 meters with northwesterly surface winds on both of them.

The maximum temperatures expected for Monday are: 16C in Cairo, 16C in Alexandria, 17C in Qena, 20C in Luxor and 21C in Aswan.
