Roma to receive €1.5 million from Liverpool as Salah hits 20th goal

Roma are entitled to receive a bonus of €1.5 million after Liverpool star Mohamed Salah bagged his 20th goal of the season, which came in Liverpool’s 4-0 win over Bournemouth on Sunday.

The Reds bought the Egyptian international from Roma in the summer transfer window for €50million (€42m plus €8m in add-ons).

The contract included an add-on bonus worth €1.5 million if Salah scored 20 goals for Liverpool.

Salah became the first player from the English Premier League to score 20 goals in all competitions this season. He now stands top scorer of the Premier League after hitting 16 goals in the competition.

The Egyptian was crowned the Premier League Player of the Month for November. He competed for the prize against Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling from league leaders Manchester City, Burnley’s Robbie Brady, Ashley Young from Manchester United, Chelsea winger Eden Hazard, and Arsenal’s Shkodran Mustafi.

Salah was also crowned by Liverpool as their Player of the Month for November.

To cap off a sweep of awards and an excellent year, Salah secured the BBC’s African Footballer of the Year award on Monday.
