Sahar Nasr meets Italy’s infrastructure minister

Egypt’s Investment and International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr met with Italy’s Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Danilo Tonelli during her visit to the Italian capital Rome.

Egypt’s Ambassador to Rome Hisham Badr attended the meeting.

The two sides discussed increasing cooperation in the field of infrastructure by encouraging Italian companies to inject new investments in Egypt in this field, in addition to Italy’s possible contribution to several projects in the transport sector, such as railway and metro.

Nasr stressed Egypt’s keenness to increase economic and investment relations with Italy in light of the strategic relations between the two countries and the historical extended relations between the two peoples.

The transport sector in Egypt is witnessing a great development in all its fields due to its importance in attracting investors, Nasr said, pointing out that there are promising investment opportunities in all fields of transport.

The Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation, in coordination with the Ministry of Transport, is encouraging the private sector to invest in this field, she added.

Meanwhile, Tonelli stressed Italy’s keenness to push forward the cooperative relations with Egypt during the coming period in the fields of infrastructure and transport.
