Security arrests pro-Morsi students in Monufiya

Police forces arrested six students loyal to deposed President Mohamed Morsi in Monufiya, north of Cairo, on Tuesday morning, an NGO reported.

The officers invaded the students' rented apartment and charged them with bomb plots and forming a terrorist cell, according to the Association for Freedom of Thought and Expression.

The students allegedly belong to the Muslim Brotherhood-led Students Against the Coup.

Egyptian universities have been roiling with protests by supporters of the ousted president since his removal in 2013, with encounters with security forces turning bloody on some occasions.

Since the former president's ouster, several students have been referred to court and jailed over charges of rioting and terrorism.
