Security forces dispersed a protest by university applicants outside the Higher Education Ministry on Qasr al-Aini Street near the Cabinet in Cairo.
The students were protesting their inability to get admitted to any university via the high school grades-based admission system.
“We won’t go away”, “We want a college”, ‘We have no money for private institutes”, chanted the protesters.
Club-wielding riot police dispersed the demonstrations and broke some reporters’ cameras. Some of the students fainted during the encounters.
