Security services prepare for Ahly vs. Esperance football match

On Thursday the Interior Ministry finalized a plan to secure the football match between Ahly and the Tunisian Esperance teams at Cairo Stadium on Friday.

The ministry will deploy extra troops to the stadium and install multiple CCTV cameras, and spectators will be frisked as they enter.

Tickets will only be sold at the Ahly Club in Zamalek and Nasr City. All other ticket booths around the stadium will be closed.

Gates will be open from 3 pm until 5:30 pm, or until the stadium is filled.

Bangers, inflammable material, matches and cans will not be allowed, and only plastic bottles and cartons for water or juice will be permitted.

The plan also aims to organize traffic outside the stadium.

The match will start at 8 pm. It is part of the African Champions League quarter-finals.

Esperance beat Ahly in last year's quarter-finals in two matches that witnessed violent clashes between fans.
