Sisi to visit Vietnam for first time Sunday

President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi will head to the Vietnamese capital of Hanoi on Sunday morning for an official visit, a first for an Egyptian president in the whole history of the two countries. Sisi will travel to the Asian country after he concludes his visit to China.

Sisi attended the ninth Summit of the Brix Group in Xiamen, China.

Informed sources said aquaculture will be the focus of the president’s visit to Vietnam, during which he will discuss cooperation with Hanoi to establish the largest fish farm in Egypt, with the aim of exporting its production to Europe.

Sisi is scheduled to meet with senior Vietnamese officials, including the Vietnamese president, the secretary-general of the Communist Party, the president of the National Assembly and the prime minister, to discuss ways to strengthen ties between the two countries in various fields.

Sisi and Vietnamese officials will discuss Vietnam’s needs for oil and gas products, fertilizers, urea and medicines, and establishing power generation projects. They will also discuss Vietnam’s participation in modernization projects of Port Said and Alexandria ports.
