A Spanish court has rejected a request by fugitive Egyptian business tycoon Hussein Salem to reduce his bail of five million euros.
An Egyptian source said Salem will remain under house arrest until a verdict is issued against him.
The source also said that the Egyptian authorities are sending their Spanish counterparts documents implicating Salem in the violations he allegedly committed in Egypt.
The source added that the Spanish judiciary is currently in its annual recess and did not expect any new developments in the case before next month.
