420 surveillance cameras to be installed in Hurghada streets

Red Sea Governor Ahmed Abdullah has revealed an agreement with the Telecommunications Ministry to install 420 surveillance cameras in main streets and squares in the resort town of Hurghada.

During his meeting with Deputy Telecommunications Minister Raafat Hindi, as well as other officials and number of engineers from the Telecom Egypt and police telecommunications in the province, Abdullah stressed necessity of coordination between Telecom Egypt, police telecommunications and the Hurghada city council in order to fully utilize the infrastructure.

The target, according to Abdullah, is covering all areas in Hurghada. He put an emphasis on  cooperation so as to set the places and number of cameras on  main streets, squares, traffic lights and pivotal places.

In related news, police telecommunication engineers said another 420 cameras will be installed across the Red Sea governorate. They will all be linked to the electronic monitoring center and the Hurghada police department.
