Teacher who sexually harassed blind student referred to trial

Daqahlia prosecution referred a teacher at a blinds school on Wednesday to a criminal court over charges of sexually harassing one of his students.

The province's security department had received a complaint from the father of the 13-year-old student accusing her Arabic teacher of sexually assaulting her inside the school’s bathroom.

Other parents had, reportedly, followed the father’s suit and submitted a complaint to the education department, whereby Governor Hossam Eddin Imam suspended the teacher for three months pending investigation and halved his payment.

Initial police investigations accuse the teacher of taking photos of the female students inside the bathroom and harassing them at the end of the school day.
